Amazon Reveals $230 Touch-Screen Echo Show

Amazon today unveiled a touch-screen version of its Repeat device, dubbed the Echo Show.

The Show, available in white or black, is available for pre-guild now for $229.99, and is expected to arrive on June 28. If you buy two or more Echo Testify devices, go $100 off with the "SHOW2PACK" code.

According to Amazon, the Echo Show "brings you everything you dear about Alexa, and now she can bear witness yous things. Sentinel video flash briefings and YouTube, see music lyrics, security cameras, photos, weather forecasts, to-do and shopping lists, and more. All hands-free—simply ask."

The Echo Bear witness sports a seven-inch touch screen and a 5-megapixel front-facing photographic camera for video calls. It weighs about two.v pounds and comes in at seven.4 past vii.4 by 3.5 inches. It runs an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor.

With Echo Show, tap into the services you would on your Repeat speaker—from music (Amazon Music, Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn) to the 24-hour interval's news. You lot can too link it up with smart abode devices from companies like Ring, WeMo, Philips Hue, SmartThings, ecobee, and Wink and use Echo Show as a surveillance photographic camera of sorts ("Alexa, bear witness me the kids' room.")

Since Amazon unveiled its voice-controlled Repeat speaker in 2022, it has introduced smaller, supplementary Echo devices with the Dot (video below) and Tap. Clones take popped up, more often than not notably the Google Dwelling house, the Lenovo Smart Assistant, and—merely this week—the Cortana-backed Harman Kardon Invoke.

Apple has thus far stayed out the infinite; Phil Schiller recently said any Repeat-like device probably needed a touch screen, so we'll accept to see if Cupertino decides to give the Echo Show a run for its money.
