Ah, to be trapped together – a familiar setting for any fictional love to blossom. In a set-up that may feel familiar in this age of social distancing and quarantine, Two‌ Night Stand starsAnaleigh TiptonandMiles Teller as two folks who meet on a dating website and wind up trapped in a small apartment together a whole lot longer than they expected when a blizzard hits the morning after their one night stand. Teller and Tipton have electric chemistry, which keeps the film pulsing all along, even when the script veers into some deeply weird displays of boundary issues in the final act. But up to that point, there's plenty of winning banter, steamy love scenes, and a convincing character bond that keeps you rooting for their ever after.

Afternoon Delight is so close to being a special movie. Alas, at least it's still hot. Before Mrs. Fletcher, the greatKathryn Hahn gave a tremendous performance of sexual reawakening in 2013'sAfternoon Delight. Written and directed by Transparent creator Jill Soloway, the indie dramedy is rife with killer performances, it's just kind of a smug, pious asshole of a movie that empathizes with all the wrong characters. Hahn stars as Rachel, a rich, privileged, but oh-so-tragically bored housewife who befriends a young stripper (Juno Temple) and invites her to stay in her (absurdly lavish) house to try and "save" her. However, she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for when she realizes her newfound friend is actually an unabashed, unapologetic "full-service sex worker" who represents all the wildness Rachel misses in her stuffy life. Soloway's script is bafflingly dismissive of sex workers, picturing them as some sort of bizarre manic pixie dream girl that exists entirely on a victim/homewrecker binary, to be used up and discarded once they help the upstanding reach their new awakenings. Yuck.

So why is it on this list if I have so much distaste for it? Well friends, it ain't a list of the best, most inclusive movies on Amazon Prime. It's a list of sexy movies andAfternoon Delight is quite sexy indeed. Juno Temple giving Kathryn Hahn a lapdance? Sexy. Kathryn Hahn having an orgasm that changes her life? Sexy. Kathryn Hahn giving one of the best performances of her career? Yeah, also sexy.

Looking for something fairly twisted without going full-on Nymphomaniac ? Look no further. Adore takes gets real weird with it in what's pretty much a dramatic rendering of The Lonely Island's "Mother Lover", starring Naomi Watts and Robin Wright as two lifelong best friends who fall for each other's sons. Adore treats the concept seriously, with a lot of warmth and understanding for the morally conflicted characters and their salacious and oh-so-steamy predicament. Watts and Wright both deliver the kind of soul-searching performances you'd expect from them, and writer/director Anne Fontaine stretches out every moment of lurid desire and tender transgression with the understanding that as untoward as the circumstance may be, it's all strung on an underpinning of deep, shared love. It's Oedipal to the utmost, utterly unacceptable, and of course, that taboo is what makes it all so darn erotic. Adore plays like a prestige drama but way kinker and trashier, and if you can lean into its salacious swerve, there's pleasure in the perversion of this soapy melodrama and a cautionary tale about boundaries that aren't mean to be crossed.

Following an international dance troupe that gets real weird with it when their punch bowl gets spiked with hard drugs,Gaspar Noé' directs the hell out of their kinetic, perverse, and anxiety-driven descent into drug-fuelled madness.Sofia Boutellastars in her best performance to date, and if you're in it for the sexy vibes, just be aware that things get very dark in the third act, but the film's first act is a euphoric display of athleticism, talents, and yes, horniness.
